Red’s Orange White Russian
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Netflix. All opinions are 100% mine.
As the holidays approach, I tend to find myself spending more time in the kitchen. Prepping pies early for Thanksgiving, pre-chopping vegetables to make assembly easier later for the week… and right now, our kitchen has no windows and my boyfriend is often in the other room watching TV, so I’ve started to enjoy watching Netflix while I cook in the kitchen.
The best part is that my cookbook stand comfortably fits my iPad, so I can prop it up and watch Netflix programs or cooking shows. We have a Roku box (similar to an Apple TV) in our living room, so we watch shows and movies on Netflix from the couch, too. They even have an app so you can watch from your phone while you’re traveling on the go.
I got hooked on Orange is the New Black, after almost all of my friends had been raving about how addicting the show was. (If you haven’t seen it, I highly suggest it and season 2 premieres soon!)
Celebrity chef, Curtis Stone, developed a White Russian cocktail inspired by a character named Red, who is the head chef on Orange is the New Black. In college, White Russians were my go-to drink because they are creamy and taste somewhat like an alcoholic iced coffee! This new version, Red’s Orange White Russian, adds a hint of orange liqueur and orange zest which adds another layer of delicious flavors to this cocktail.
This cocktail would be perfect paired with pumpkin or pecan pie for Thanksgiving instead of the traditional coffee that is served with desserts, or you can enjoy it on Sunday afternoon like I did 🙂
This Thanksgiving, I plan to have Netflix on while I help prepare our delicious gluten-free feast! I want to start watching House of Cards, which I hear is amazing, and Lilyhammer, which features a character from Sopranos (another awesome series.) I watched the entire Breaking Bad series on Netflix, too, which if you haven’t watched yet, you better go start right now. It’s amazing.
I love watching cooking shows on Netflix in the kitchen, especially Take Home Chef and Cake Boss. It’s a fun way to stay entertained when I don’t have company in the kitchen, or to enjoy while things are simmering or baking in the oven.

Hugs, kisses & yummy dishes… xoxo
