Healthy “Fried” Honey Bananas
I have a huge sweet tooth. Sometimes I’m able to resist, but many nights I love to end things on a sweet note so I love to find healthy ways to satisfy my craving! And this recipe is one of them 🙂 (Along with 1-ingredient banana ice cream! But that’s for another post…)
You sauté sliced bananas on the stove with some water and honey and finish with a sprinkle of cinnamon for a delicious dessert you don’t have to feel guilty about. It’s great with a dollop of Cool Whip, with some ice cream, or just on its own!
What you’ll need: cooking spray, banana, honey or agave nectar and cinnamon.
Slide your banana into discs, about 1/4 inch thick.
In a small bowl, whisk together the tablespoon of honey with 1/2 a tablespoon of water.
Spray your pan with the cooking spray and heat over medium. Add the banana slices and cook for about 1-2 minutes, until browned, then flip them over.
Turn off the stove, pour the honey/water mixture over the tops of the bananas and let it bubble and caramelize.
Sprinkle the cinnamon on top and enjoy on its own, with a dollop of Cool Whip, or over ice cream 🙂
